On Reddit there are a lot of reactions to the announcement. One user posted: “Mass Effect and Dragon Age offered gamers an escape into a fantasy world filled with interesting, well-rounded characters, they could connect with. Now, these gamers feel like they‘re being pushed aside so BioWare can court the online multiplayer market.“ BioWare  is well known for their classic narrative-driven style of games, so “Anthem” was unexpected.

Another surprise was the announcement of a prequel for the adventure “Life is strange”. It’s going to be released on August 31 and is called “Life is strange: Before the storm”. You play the former main protagonist Chloe while she meets her friend Rachel Amber.  One of the biggest highlights of the E3 was the reveal of Bethesda’s “The Evil Within 2”, a survival horror game, which “surely be giving us all nightmares”, sad Pete Hines, global vice president of PR and marketing. “The Evil Within 2” takes place three years after the first game. You will jump into a bizarre world, full of zombies, claustrophobic environments and an oppressive atmosphere to save your daughter from evil.  During EA’s press co nference a new innovative game developed by Hazelight Studios, the developers behind “Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons” revealed “A Way Out”, a cooperative prison break game. Sequel to a 14 year old game

Happy end for fans of „Beyond Good & Evil.“ 14 years after the release of the first game, Ubisoft revealed a cinematic trailer for “Beyond Good & Evil 2”. It is developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, which also developed the first game, the “Rayman” series and “Tom Clancy‘s Ghost Recon Wildlands”. “Beyond Good & Evil 2” takes place in the 24th century in a solar system called System 3, where humanoid animals live with humans in a science-fictional setting.

Nintendo revealed a lot of upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch in their press conference. Fans were especially excited about the new Mario game. “Super Mario Odyssey” is an open world 3D-Sandbox game with many new locations like New Donk City, a Nintendo Copy of New York City.  Furthermore Nintendo announced the availability of Skyrim on Nintendo Switch. The biggest astonishment at Nintendo’s spotlight press conference was the announcement  of “Metroid Prime 4”: The classical first-person action-adventure game around bounty hunter Samus Aran. Furthermore, two DLCs for the “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” were presented.
